Firstar Corporation was a Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based regional bank holding company that later became U.S. Bancorp, a nationwide bank corporation in the United States. In 2001, Firstar acquired U.S. Bancorp and assumed its name, moving its headquarters to Minneapolis.

Teller (Former Employee) says

"Overall it wasn't that bad of a place to work for. They try to make things fun as a whole company when it comes to company meetings, picnics, & being involved in the community; however, the management for the teller line is awful. They lack communication skills, they are inconsistent with what they tell each other and what they tell their employees. They treat their employees poorly by talking to them as if they are children, by accusing them of not being able to perform their duties and also accusing them of not being honest. When they have issues with employees standing up for themselves or other co-workers, they single them out - making up lies, finding any excuse to get rid of them or just drive them mad until they can't take it anymore and quit. Tellers get stuck with the odd end jobs that the other employees in the bank could help out with. For example, if your branch doesn't have a receptionist guess who gets to stand in the lobby acting like a Walmart greeter? That's right, the tellers. Even though everyone is already greeted by not only the tellers behind teller line, but also other employees in the bank that are in or near the lobby.. they managed to work as a team to greet customers without making them feel as if they are being attacked by someone before they started that nonsense. They would also call 'mandatory emergency meetings' an hour before they started which is causing a major inconvenience to not only their employees but their employees' family. Granted, employees that were unable to make it wouldn't be fired necessarily, but they would suffer someCommunity involvement, pot luck dinners, good insurance for full timePoor management, lack of proper training, inconsistent w/ rules, poor communication"

"Overall the Bank itself, and goals are great. However for the teller line, there is an excessive amount of responsibility with little pay & slim chance for promotions. The turnover is extremely high, due to poor management & lack of training. Teller line is known for being "the front line" the "face of the bank", but is not treated with much importance. It is unfortunate for the bank to have their tellers endure such behavior, & maybe one day understand the problem lies within management. Performance reflects leadership.Very Involved in the community.Poor management in teller line."
